Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement for Ilchester Community Primary

At Ilchester Community Primary, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils. We believe that every child has the right to grow up in a safe, nurturing environment where they are protected from harm and can thrive both academically and personally.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding Includes:

  • Creating a Safe Environment: We ensure that our school is a safe place for children by maintaining high standards of health and safety and by fostering a culture of vigilance and care.
  • Training and Awareness: All staff and volunteers receive regular training on safeguarding issues, enabling them to recognise and respond effectively to signs of abuse and neglect.
  • Clear Policies and Procedures: We have robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place, which are regularly reviewed and updated. These include protocols for reporting concerns, managing allegations, and ensuring safe recruitment practices.
  • Early Intervention and Support: We work closely with children, parents, and external agencies to provide early help and support to those in need and address issues before they escalate.
  • Listening to Children: We encourage children to speak out about concerns and ensure they know who to talk to if they feel unsafe or worried.

Our safeguarding policies are available on our website and can be accessed by parents, carers, and staff at any time. We are dedicated to working with our community to keep every child safe and promote their well-being.
