Charity Events

At Ilchester Community Primary School, we believe in the importance of giving back to the community and teaching our students the value of compassion and generosity. Our charitable events are designed to support worthy causes, engage our students in meaningful activities, and foster a sense of social responsibility. The purpose of our charitable events is to:

  1. Raise Awareness: Educate students about various social issues and the importance of helping those in need.
  2. Encourage Participation: Involve students, parents, and staff in fundraising activities that make a positive impact on the community.
  3. Promote Empathy: Cultivate a culture of kindness and empathy by encouraging students to think about others and contribute to charitable causes.
  4. Support Worthy Causes: Raise funds for organisations that provide essential services and support to those in need, such as Barnardo’s and Macmillan Cancer Support.
  5. Build Community Spirit: Strengthen the bond within our school community by working together towards common goals.

Shoebox Appeal

Blythswood Care and Ilchester Community Primary School extend their gratitude to everyone who participated this year by filling shoe boxes with simple items that can bring hope this Christmas. The school has successfully created a total of 27 boxes. Appreciation is expressed for the generosity shown, reflecting the school values of Kindness and Equity. Christmas Jumper Day 2024

On Thursday, December 12th, students were invited to wear their festive Christmas jumpers in support of Children in Need.

This wonderful event raised an impressive £298, which will go towards supporting children in need across the country. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone for your participation and generosity

Poppy Appeal 2024

Our annual British Legion Poppy Appeal raised a staggering £520.54 this year. We are very proud to support this charity which offers support to serving personnel, veterans and their families; a cause which is very close to our hearts here at Ilchester Community Primary School. This is the largest amount we have raised since supporting this charity - a huge well done to all our children and families.

Children In Need 2024 (Splat in the Hat)

The "Splat in the Hat" event was a thrilling success, as classes fiercely competed to raise the most money for Children in Need. The excitement reached its peak when the winning class's teachers (and teaching assistant) donned a spectacular hat filled with jam, cream, custard, and glitter, creating a fun and messy spectacle for all to enjoy!

As ever, you were incredibly generous in your coin donations, with a whopping £677.74 raised for the various charities dedicated to supporting children across the country.
