UIFSM/Free School Meals
At Ilchester Community Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all our students have access to nutritious meals that support their health and learning. We participate in the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) program and offer eligible students Free School Meals (FSM). Here’s an overview of these programs:
Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)
- Eligibility: All students in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to receive a free school meal every day, regardless of their family’s income.
- Benefits: UIFSM ensures that our youngest students have access to a healthy and balanced meal, which is essential for their growth, development, and concentration in the classroom.
Free School Meals (FSM)
- Eligibility: Students in Year 3 and above may be eligible for FSM if their families meet certain income criteria. Parents can apply for FSM through the local authority.
- Benefits: FSM provides vital support to families, ensuring that all students have access to nutritious meals, which can positively impact their academic performance and overall well-being.
We encourage all eligible families to take advantage of these programs. Please visit the link below for more information on applying for Free School Meals. We are here to support our students and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Figs Catering from Somerton provides the Universal Free School Meal to all our Infant Department children and provides packed lunches to our KS2 children in receipt of Free School Meals.
